What is flexible working? MJV Consulting discuss how you should approach flexible working and flexible working requests.

As we are mid way through Mental Health Awareness Week (and it’s ‘hump day’) it seems like a good time to get some positive thinking out there.

Looking after our own personal wellbeing is important. 

Here’s some quick tips for things you could do today to improve your mental wellbeing:

1. Mindfulness – take 10 minutes out of your day to do some mindful breathing exercises.

2. Exercise – A 20 minute walk in the sunshine and fresh air can work wonders (You could try your mindful breathing while you walk 🙂 )

3. Get some rest – whether this is sleep or sitting down for half an hour and switching off from the world – you’ll know best what would benefit you more.

4. Do something creative – drawing, dancing, singing at the top of your voice (the neighbours might not appreciate it but hey ho….you’ll feel great!)

5. Speak to friends – sometimes a good catch up with friends is just what you need to feel good.

6. DRINK MORE WATER – We’re probably all guilty of not drinking enough water – I know I am. But keeping hydrated can definitely help to keep your mind focussed.

7. Switch off the screens for a while – Laptop, phone, TV, tablet, etc – we all spend too much time looking at screens. If you’re able to, try and have a decent bit of time away from them – you’ll feel all the better for it.
